This was so cute it made a great Christmas present for my boss :)
I had a bit of trouble though sewing the bottom with the top don't know if its because when I was tracing the pattern on the material XP
Its still came out really cute :)

Only thing bad about these sewing tutorials is that they don't say which stitch type to use

I made a little octo from your tutorial! tskitzo.deviantart.com/art/Bab…

Also, I am unsure of your policy on selling items created from your tutorials and patterns, so I am asking if it is allowed to be sold by another person or not. I ask becauset if it's not allowed I can put a disclaimer on the image stating so.

They're cute! I am surprised how well the tentacles look after being turned inside out. I never turn them inside out cause they look weird when I do XD

I have been learned that everytime you do a pluchie turn it inside out xD so I tryed and they became good

I might do more in the future and maybe make the patten bigger in gimp or in a word doc.

If you do make more I would suggest using the bigger body pattern (the bigger fish shaped piece of the pattern) That one tends to enlarge better.

I belive soo too the smaller one is cute but the faces are easier to make on the big one

Then you can enlage the pattern in paint too to make it even bigger

Totally! That and they just turn out better. Like more round and squishy. Sometimes with the smaller one the head gets kind of caved in.

I've been meaning to redo the pattern. Not sure about the tut, but the pattern at least. I want to get rid of the small fish piece and I'd enlarge it as much as I could. I mean I've only ever enlarged the pattern so the plush is maybe 2x the size never bigger than that.

Yeah I noticed on the purple one he have the look like hmm what are you doing / Hi I'm creepy with he thing in his head

If you are going to do bigger liek x4 I think it would be batter to have 6-8 smaller pices so every part have one tentacle ( but that is jut my brains spacing out xD )

I might give it a try if I get more fabric right now the lages I have is liek only 3 decimeters wide and liek 1.5 meters long and it's winered.

If I make it I will post a pic of it and if you liek it I can send you the patter =)

And that's why I retired that size of the pattern XD

I agree with you there. I've actually made the pattern bigger and I cute the tentacles into 4's with two legs on each piece. The only problem with that was that the bottom kind of puffed out. If I wasn't focused on my little people patterns I'd work more on making a better big octopus pattern.

(I had to google those dimensions. I live in the US and I only know feet and inches)Okay now I know what size of fabric you're working with. You want one that's big enough for cuddling.

If you do make it that large and you do decide to post it. I will definitely use it to make a big octopus <3 I'd love to make a big one.

i guess the bottom of his tenticals printed weird or something for me but they dont match up like the ones in this tutorial do.

My guess is it printed out wrong. Or perhaps you accidentally pinned the bottom part on wrong? Do you see on the pattern how some of the legs are very close together (somewhat parallel) and the other part in a wide V? The seams of the body should meet with the point where the legs are close together.

I'd also suggest using the big octo pattern over the smaller one. They just always turn out better in m opinion. I actually don't make the small ones anymore.

Good. I'm happy it worked better for you C:

Might I suggest trying felt or fleece? Just do not buy your fabric from Hobby Lobby! Their fleece is way too stretchy and the ends like to unravel. Their felt is too giving and gets a case of the lumps if you don't stuff it super carefully. If you've got a jo-anns or a hancock fabrics try there. That's where I generally get the best fabric.

i get all my fabric from hancock i love it. but the last stuff i got was from where i work at michaels i was going to do a demo with it using your lovely pattern so i could toss octopie at people but it was ripping so bad i gave up and did a demo with these lovely markers we have and drew catbug XD but yea i have stock piles of fleece i gotta use so i'll still make tons of octopie :D

Oh wow. I was unaware Micheal's sold fabric. Mine doesn't sell it, so I never even knew they did. Making Octopi is what I do with my massive amounts of fabric XD.

our section is farily small and already we've had complaints about how crappy the fabric is so i'm guessing soon its not going to be there anymore lol XD

Was the fabric really that bad? XD My worst experience with fabric was fleece from hobby lobby that unraveled (fleece isn't supposed to do that) and was so stretchy that when I stuffed the item it had a serious case of the lumps.

I can't wait to make one with my friend and her munchkin. :) I was wondering whats the best (preferably cheaper) fabric and stitch to use? I mean I'm not a pro-sewer but I know my way around a spool of thread and needle.

I would suggest using fleece for them. It's easy to use, doesn't rip easily, retains a fat squishy shape easily. A bunch of crafts stores sell fleece. I would suggest a jo-anns or hancock fabrics if you have one. They just tend to have the best fleece. Never buy it from Hobby Lobby! Their fleece stretches and warps and can actually unravel. Fleece isn't meant to unravel. As for thread I would suggest a medium weight thread, don't get the heavy duty stuff and don't get something too light. I'd advise staying away from rayon thread, it likes to break when hand sewing.

Thanks. I know how to sew but I'm seriously so rusty at it so felt is more or less till I get comfortable with the stitching. I want to make one for my friend for her baby. But the couple I practiced on didn't turn out too bad. (Currently on number two) ^^
